Bible Study
Pastor John leads two Bible Studies during the year, each lasting six weeks. Bible Studies are on Thursdays at 7 p.m. in the Gordon Conference Room. The fall Bible Study usually starts in October and goes through mid November. The second Bible Study happens during the Lenten Season. Over the years, we have gone through several Bible books, as well as looked at topics like “Women in the Bible.” Anyone is invited to come to these studies: you do not need any knowledge of the Bible, just an open mind and a willingness to learn. Book Club
The church Book Club meets on the Third Monday of the month at the Thomas Crane Library in Quincy Center at 7:30 p.m. This group is open to anyone interested, whether you’re a church member or not. Over a month, members read a book related to faith, Bible, spirituality or religion and discusses the book at the meeting. Over the past year, the Club has read books like “Left to Tell” by Immaculee Ilibagiza, “The Stones” by Elaine Gustafson, “90 Minutes in Heaven” by Don Piper, “The Hole in Our Gospel” by Richard Stearns, “Gilead” by Marilynne Robinson and “Traveling Mercies” by Anne Lamott. Faith and Film Series
The Faith and Film Series is open to anyone interested in seeing a good movie. Screenings are on the third Friday of the month. The evening includes a snack bar, offering soups, sandwiches and snacks, that opens at 6 p.m. The movie starts at 6:30 p.m. All the films have something to do with faith, religion or spirituality. We try to cover all different movie styles: acton/adventure, drama, musical, comedies, etc. After the screening, there is a brief, informal discussion.
