At Houghs Neck Congregational Church we believe and proclaim that the children are the Church of today!
The Church’s Sunday School is an active program grounded in teaching children the basic scriptural and doctrinal foundations of the Christian faith. The children both enjoy and benefit from the program.
Classes are grouped as follows:
Pre-Kindergarten/Kindergarten
Grades 1-3
Grades 4-5
Grades 6 -8
The children begin each Sunday in the sanctuary with the congregation, where they participate in worship which includes a special Children’s Message from the Pastor. Following the Children’s Message, the students and their teachers gather downstairs for our student worship service led by the children. Following this short service, the children adjourn to their separate classes.
The first Sunday of each month, Grades 6-8 attend the Church Service.
The second Sunday of each month, Sunday School students serve as Liturgists.
Note: All teachers are CORI checked.
Nursery is available for children under 2.9 years during the church service each Sunday mid-September through mid-June.
