Life & Sacraments
Throughout our lives, there are moments when we turn to our faith and our church family for celebration, reflection, comfort, and connection.
At Houghs Neck Congregational Church, we are honored to share these meaningful moments with you — from Baptism and Holy Communion to weddings, funerals, and Celebrations of Life.

Funerals, Memorial Services & Celebrations of Life
During a time of loss, our church family is here to offer care, comfort, and support.
We believe accompanying those who mourn is an important part of our ministry. Our Pastor will work with your family to plan a meaningful service that honors and remembers your loved one while offering a message of faith and hope.
Contacting the Pastor
When there is a death in your family, please call the church or use the Contact Us button below to reach our Pastor.
Our Pastor will provide pastoral care and help your family plan the funeral or memorial service, of Celebration of Life.
Collations
The Rev. M. Alicia Corea Fellowship Hall is available for a collation following a funeral or memorial service.
This provides family and friends with a comfortable place to gather, share refreshments, and spend time together remembering their loved one.
Remembrance Fund
Families and friends may choose to make a contribution to our Remembrance Fund in memory of a loved one.
Checks should be made payable to Houghs Neck Congregational Church.
Larger bequests may also be made to the church’s endowment fund as a lasting memorial.
Baptism
Celebrating a Baptism is one of the great joys of our church family.
We welcome both infants and adults to receive the sacrament of Baptism, which is celebrated as part of our Sunday morning worship.
Through Baptism, we share in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and are welcomed into the Christian community. We also affirm the gift of the Holy Spirit to guide and strengthen us throughout our journey of faith.
When an infant is baptized, parents promise to raise their child in the Christian faith. Our congregation also makes a promise — to support the family and provide a loving church community where the child can grow in faith.
Interested in Baptism for yourself or your child? Please call the church or use the Contact Us button below. We would be happy to talk with you.
Holy Communion
Holy Communion, also known as The Lord’s Supper, is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month.
Everyone Is Welcome at Christ’s Table
You do not need to be a member of Houghs Neck Congregational Church to receive Holy Communion. All are welcome.
In Communion, we remember the Last Supper Jesus shared with his disciples and Christ’s love and sacrifice for us.
As we share the bread and wine or juice, we experience God’s grace and are nourished in our faith.
Together at Christ’s table, we are reminded that we are part of something greater than ourselves — a community united by God’s love.
